Quality and environment

We have a well documented Quality Management System in which quality and environment are put into focus and which is specifically designed for our business. Within our system, we have documented our thinking and policies regarding the environment. We strive to put the habitats in the center of our business.

Within the company's planning we make room for the natural cycles and promote diversity. We find it obvious to have a well developed environmental plan striving to maximum balance in interaction with our nature.

A perfect balance can only be achieved through awareness, well rooted in the organization.

The key is to get all fellows to understand their cooperation is very important. Not just because what is written in the media right now but because it is the truth which will affect us all and which we like to keep in mind for the future. There is only one Earth and we have to take care of it in the best possible way.

The climate change is a global problem where everyone can make a difference. Even small changes in our daily behavior can help preventing exhausts of greenhouse gases without it affecting our quality of life. At the same time we can save money on doing it!

We care about future generations - the future is ours if we take good care of the present!

Quality Management System
VIKON has its own Quality Management System giving directions to work closely with ISO 9001:2000 and to be open for directives from our customers. We are not certified but are willing to discuss certification when our customers require us to do so. All suppliers and subcontractors for manufacturing of electronic equipment and other hardware used by VIKON must be ISO certified.

Every system for condition monitoring delivered by VIKON is tested at our premises before delivery. Machine modules that will be used by the system on site are installed during this test. During this test we verify system functions and run burn in tests on the system processing units under realistic operating conditions. A complete document is delivered stating results of the test.

Customer Coordination Procedure before & after provision of service
Order handling routines are strictly followed and checklists are used for all projects. We communicate with the customer to ensure requirements are met before we accept an order. During the project we have regular meetings to verify we are not deviating from the plan. According to our internal quality management document delivery time must not exceed 15% of the projected time. The time is followed by our internal business system and deviations from the 15% rule triggers internal quality control of the delivery process. Before we complete delivery we check and verify that delivery will meet customer satisfaction.

Calibration of Condition Monitoring Equipment and Systems
From a calibration point of view our systems consist only of MIVA Hardware and Transducers. Monitoring software do not require calibration. Machine modules used for alarm and diagnosis are developed under Service contracts and continuingly verified as alarm and events occur.

MIVA® Hardware balancing and condition monitoring is calibrated with a special device called MIVA® Checker. This device produces a calibrated signal which is connected to the monitoring system. Criteria for calibration are part of the system. The MIVA® Checker is delivered with a sticker stating due date for next calibration. The sticker can be renewed by sending the MIVA® Checker for control to VIKON in Sweden. Control is made against a calibrated reference instrument. This instrument is regularly checked and re-calibrated by sending it to a certified test institute in Sweden. Test protocols are traceable. The MIVA Checker can also be used for quick control of cables. The cable is plugged in directly to the checker to verify signal quality is OK.

Transducers manufactured by VIKON can be sent to VIKON for calibration. Calibration interval is 3 years. We recommend regular control of the calibration to ensure sensors work correctly. We can also offer special test devices for quick control on situ. Transducers not manufactured by VIKON but delivered by VIKON follow recommendations for calibration by the manufacturer.

Software Development Capacity for Condition Monitoring Equipment and Systems
VIKON has its own resources for software development. In addition we also have a big network of consulting engineers to support us during occasional production peaks.

Machine modules for condition monitoring are developed on the Oracle platform. We have worked with Oracle since 1989 and developed our own application software around this platform. Our Oracle database contains machine data and information for development of alarm limits and diagnostic models for the machine modules. Output from the database is data files for installation in the monitoring equipment.

VIKON Software for balancing and condition monitoring are developed on the Borland Delphi 7 and 2006 platforms. Software developments are based on latest technology and object oriented programming.
